3A Composites Core Materials is a global leader with the broadest portfolio of sustainable core materials made of PET foam and balsa wood. They have pioneered the core materials industry with more than 75 years of experience and 1500+ employees. They are headquartered in Switzerland and have operations in Europe, the Americas, China and Papua New Guinea.
Since the beginning their focus was on developing strong and solid, lightweight core materials essential in manufacturing more durable and energy-efficient end products such as wind turbine blades, boat hulls and decks, aerospace and automotive applications. Over the years they have perfected their technology, creating superior products made of finest natural and sustainable materials, yet their corporate image didn’t project their focus on sustainability.
We repositioned the brand to project the image of a progressive company committed to sustainability. Our new brand story focuses on the passion and perseverance in creating new products which are stronger, lighter and greener to the core, describing literally and figuratively what they are made of.
“We care about the families of people who work for us in Papua New Guinea and Ecuador. We are ecological; our aim is to positively impact the environment, to create green products that help the environment.
Our products are lightweight and strong, impacting the greener future; some are created from balsa wood we planted, some from recyclable plastic (PET) we repurposed. Our products have a new purpose, to create a stronger, lighter and greener future. We aim to inspire others – individuals and companies. This is what we are made of.”
The new slogan “The Future is Greener” projects the brand story, as well as the key brand message “Stronger, Lighter, Greener Future”. The visual identity is strong and elegant. The main color is a gradient of blue and light green colors, projecting futuristic associations on advanced technology, narrating visually what they are made of.
The new branding was first launched at the China Composites Expo in Shanghai and received positive feedback among key buyers and business partners. The employees loved that the brand now projects their long-term commitment to high quality, sustainability and positive environmental impact.
