Zayn is a creative agency leader with diverse experience spanning Europe, North America and Asia as both an agency CEO and a chief strategist. He has run fully integrated and specialist agencies for WPP and IPG in Asia Pacific, set up successful new agency businesses, and led major regional and global client engagements. He began his marketing career as a WPP Fellow after receiving an MBA from London Business School.
Following WPP roles at Brand Union London, Ogilvy & Mather Singapore, and Hill & Knowlton San Francisco, Zayn went on to lead Ogilvy & Mather Malaysia to become the country’s top performing agency and to achieve no.1 Effie Awards ranking. He was later hired by FutureBrand as CEO Asia Pacific, based in Shanghai to oversee its six offices across China, Southeast Asia, and Australia.
In early 2014 Zayn joined Paris-headquartered, global, independent brand agency Dragon Rouge to head its expansion into Southeast Asia. He has since built a thriving business for the agency in the region. The work he leads is with clients in FMCG, telco, energy, technology, media & entertainment, government, education, financial services, property, hospitality, luxury, and beauty. Services include brand strategy and design (corporate and consumer), innovation consulting, packaging design, environments, communications, employee engagement, digital and brand management, and strategies for business growth, including M&A.
In 2017, Dragon Rouge Southeast Asia was awarded silver as Specialist Agency of the Year by Marketing Magazine.
As a seasoned awards jury lead, Zayn champions the link between creativity and marketing effectiveness. Trained as an architect, he is passionate about the roles innovation and design play in business, brand and culture.
